    1996 firebird

    new aluminum gear headlights

    just put the new headlight gears in but now every time i put the emergancy brake down the headlights automatically pop up. if i click the emerg brake upt one click its fine?? whats causing this problem id like to get this minor annoying problem fixed thanks

    um, the parking brake is fully manual isn't it? I never looked at mine to tell but there should be no wiring to it so sorta confused on why your headlights would be affected at all?

    seriously, look at the wires connected to your ebrake.

    ill check in the morning but i once heard of a "DRL" sensor could be the problem??

    LOL this jackass i know who refused to race me and ran from me on the road (he has a 98 TA with ws6 hood and ws6 badge, non ws6 TA lol) well he use to be a buddy of mine but to get to the point . .....

    every time he'd turn on his alarm his pop uplights would come up and go down

    Ok I might be missing something but everytime I lock my doors or turn on the alarm my headlights pop up and down also! I thought this was correct!

    my headlights used to pop up and down and do the whole grind thing but aluminum gears fixed that problem but the fn e brake still like automaticly pops them up i cant beleive no one has had this problem??

    once the gears are installed, the headlights should no longer go up and down when the alarm is activated. there should also be wiring to your e-brake for the dash indicator...which im sure also has something to do with the sensor you mentioned. once the e-brake is engaged i believe the drl should be inactive. i cant remember for sure though.
