need help tire ?

I got a t/a with 245/50/16 on it. Now all the tire dealers around were I live in Gods county dont have this size and would have to order them. And the ones who do want a arm and a leg for tires I never even hear of before. Now all I really need is 2 tires. And I see these days on a lot of sport cars the put bigger in the back. So the ? is what size can I go up or down to go on the back or the front to go with the 245-50-16 i got.

stock 16" rims are 16x8, the widest recomended tires are 245. You can also fit 225's on those rims. So if you just want 2 tires and really dont mind having 225's on your wheels then get those for the front and keep the 245's for the back.

By the way, how much are these places asking for the 245's?

I would look at ordering some on the web and having them installed locally. Depending on what your local guys are charging for tires you may break even by doing that if you find a good deal on the web. I ran 255's on mine for a year or two with no problems but they aren't recommended for that size of rim.

now that i think about it i did run 255's on my old camaro with no problems either.
