Need help on potential Formula buy
Hi, I'm new to this and I'm currently looking to purchase a Formula I found on the internet that the seller claims to be is a WS6. I've read a few of these threads and from what I gather, it's not a legit WS6 unless it says so on the rpo code on the door sticker right? Well I had the guy send me a pic of the door panel sticker, and nowhere does it say WS6. Sure it has all the badges and what not, but you could easily buy them yourself and slap them on there. But please correct me if I'm wrong on this, because if I'm incorrect, this is a good buy that I wouldn't wanna pass up if it's legit! Thanks!
Here's a pic of the sticker:

Are you going to mod the car or drive it mostly stock?
Just wondering why it has to be a real WS6 since you can get a plain TA or Formula cheap and throw a hood on it, I do hate people tring to pass of fakes. I have the WS6 hood but mine is a plane TA and doesn't have any WS6 badges I don't try to pass it off since it have nothing else WS6 everything is upgraded. I would have got a WS6 but when it was bought I planned on modding when the warranty was up and with the wheels, complete suspension, and other mods including cutting up the hood to flow better for the Volant there would be nothing but a badge.1998 Trans Am 85k miles.

Well the way I understand it:
WS9 means that it has been turned into a V8 Formula (essentially what all V8 firebirds are).
Y82 means that the Trans Am package has been added to the Formula now making it a Trans Am.
WS6 is of course another added on package that can be optioned on top of a V8 Firebird wether Formula or Trans Am... It (WS6 option) consisted of the ram air hood,17inch polished aluminum wheels, upgraded shocks and springs, larger sway bar up front, power steering cooler, upgraded exhaust (single tipped on '98 models) and WS6 badge affixed to the rear bumper.
Hope that helps, anyone correct me if I'm wrong, sometimes the old cob webs get pretty thick in this old brain...1999 Firehawk Trans Am #530
