well the k member and motor mounts are different, the entire fuel sytem would have to be different (no recirculation, pressure control in the tank, rather than in the fuel rail return line) and you might have to fab an intake because the lts elbows while the ls1 is a straight through, if his car is auto he might have to get a whole new tranny, in 96 they changed how it operated, i believe the a/c system funtions different too,

thats just stuff i know off the top of my head, i know theres plenty more

just saying its not a clean change by any means ya'll theres alot of difference in the lt and ls bodies

I say go all out even though your on a budget (Save up) and get a LS9. I'm not sure if it will fit but if a person can put 40's on a Regal then it can happen. On top of that you will be the only one with it in a 98 Firebird plus you can roll up on those fools that laughed at you and race em' for pinks. That's what I would suggest.

ANY type of neon lights = ricer....That is the 1st place to start...Forget the LT1 swap, not woth the trouble... get entire drivetrain from a wrecked car, junk yard or engine salvage yard..I would say maybe 2-3k for everything...

    2000 firebird

i did the v6 to v8 swap about 2 months ago in my 2000 firebird its not as hard as ppl think or say.

i bought a wrecked 99TA for 3500 and swapped gas tank, rear end, trans, engine, all brake and fuel lines since they are different, and all wires under the hood, gauge cluster. took me 3 days to do it all.

if you have a the full car its nice and easy and cheap i built my car for about 8k thats price of both cars fluids and new rad since it was destroyed in accident.

when i looked for a nice t/a or formula i couldnt find any as nice as my firebird interior exterior wise for that much.
