my headlight is making noise
Today, I drove my car for the first time in a week. I notice that when i turned off my car, my headlights were floping up und down. There was a loud rattle. Does that mean that the headlight motor is gooing out?

don't see how this is possible.....the gear is nylon and the driver is metal? Never heard of nylon stripping metal.
Here's a ton of info on the headlight issue along with an order sheet for brass gears.

you can filp the gear 180 degrees. the motor only uses half the gear to lift the headlight up

Just replace the gears with the brass ones. It's a common fix on our cars. The motor itself, when it goes out you'll be winking

The Rodney Dickman kit comes with the brass gear, gear lube, epoxy, and a metal reinforcement piece that holds down and secures the cover from coming off, along with good instructions. In my decision making process, I considered the metal reinforcement piece the scale tipper given the price is comparable. I would recommend the Rodney Dickman kit hands down because the epoxy in and of itself is prone to coming apart and actually has come apart on my car with a kit that was installed prior to my purchase. The metal reinforcement pieces, to me, will keep me from having to re-do this again.
