VW BEETLE W/ FLOWER- 88 CRX
murdered out questions.
well got the 94 trans am back. guy witht he bike could not get his title so no more bike for me
on the brighter side i have decided too keep the trans am and just pretty her up and breath new life into it.
it has never seen an interior cleaning in its 16 yrs/148,000MI life. so it was pretty dirty. i found 8$ in quarters and dimes underneath the seats...woo
cleaned and waxed the whole car (execpt the hood bumper and fenders there primered white) painted the calipers red(who doesnt love red calipers!) put some factory 16" 96-97 WS6 rims on it. i am going too clean her up and make this one hell of a fun car. i just had a few questions...my goal is to make it look like the car every young kid wants so if i decide too sell it i will have no problems doing so. and i was thinking of murdering the car out but was curious if anyone had done this or knows of anyone. i wouldnt mind doing it myself but if it is reasonable id like too just have someone else do it. and how do you smoke out the taillights and side markers? is there a paint for this? and how would the factory 5 spoke chrome looking wheels look powdercoated black. ill have pics up later on when i get a few more things done.
oh, and the only performance mod i am doing is SFC and 4.10 gears.

I'm not sure about paint or the rest of the stuff but I can help with lights! To black out your side markers and taillights you can use VHT Nightshade, I think it's called, just apply a few coats till you get the desired look.I applied about 3 coats on my tailights and about 5 on my sidemarkers I think. After you get them at the desired color then you can apply some clear to make them shiny again\ and do a few coats as well. You can pick up the VHT nightshade and the clear at your local autozone or auto parts store.

The VHT Nightshades stuff is ok and you can get a decent look. If you have a compressor you can pickup a cheap mini paint gun and get some clear cloat and mix in a little black and apply it in light coats till you get the color you want then dump it and bapply 2 wet coats of normal clear and then you can also wet sand and buff it to get it shining better than new. Also sand the lights with 1500 grit or 1000 and apply a coat of adhesion promoter 1st and it will never come off.

I think a set of 01-02 polished speedlines would look great on a lt1 t/a.

I always use adhesion promotor even when I just sand and re-clear using a rattle can. it gives it a better grip and I find it takes a lot more to chip it. think of it like installing a new bumper if you ever see one with tons of chips it's usually from not sanding properly and not using adhesion promoter which bonds the paint to plastics better.
