The way it's going now, in a few years there will be stock minivans running high 12s in the 1/4 lol

i Dread the day they release the gt500 505hp at the fly! It's cool though cause we still got our z06. I have heard stories of a c6 z06 Dynatech headers, full exhaust make 500rwhp

I just wonder how much they will cost . You know what they did to the GT. It will prabably be worse on the Shelby...

I know some of You seem to be sad to the idea that a stock mini van might be walking a 2000 Z28, but I think its a good thing. Being in High school in the 80's I feel like I witnessed the rebirth of the performance car. By 91 my friends cars were as follows (89 GTA, 87 GN, 88 LX 5.0, 86 GT.) In 1990 came the ZR1 and the in 1992 came the LT1 vette and the Viper, WOW. Then the Supra, 300ZX, RX7 etc. I remember saying to my friends in 92, is the hp going to keep going up? Hey, there are minivans today that could probably take my 88 LX but thats how it should be, it's called progress. I hope before I am too old to enjoy it there will be cars that can run safely at 200mph, and get there in 10seconds.

the problem is not a car running 200mph. It is the people that drive them. Last time I checked the speed limit was still 70mph. We always talk about when we were in high school and all the trouble we got in with cars makeing 200hp. Now days kids are going to be in cars that make twice that. Most of the people wait a few years and buy a used car. Now the 98-2002 are in that range. I still think you give most drivers to much credit for being careful and drive well.

I see what your saying. I can think back to being 20 yrs old and having my Mustang topped out at about 140mph just lookin for trouble. And if I had a LS1 I would have been doing 170mph. Isn't the Camaro and Mustang in the top ten for deaths behind the wheel.
But at the same time I look at controlling hp kind of like gun control. Yeh there are crazy people out there but should my rights and freedoms be taken away and penalized for there crimes? I know if you are a 20yr old male and own a LS1 or Cobra you pay alot for insurance and the driving laws are strikter then ever. Also, if a minor is driving a 400hp car, that is the parents choice. Maybe you could make a 21 year old age limit for a car over 400hp.

That maybe a good idea about age vs hp. I also think there maybe a way to have the onboard have a thing you can set. All I know is sooner or later someone is going to something in a high HP car, and the government is going to pass somekind of blah blah blah. And no more high HP. I was just saying try to avoid something like that happining
