might be a silly question but.....
can our cars be capable of going 200mph? i was watching top gear uk and they ran the new Bugatti Veyron Super Sport up to like 258mph or something ridiculous like that and it got me thinking if TA/Camaro's could do it. obviously u gotta have some big hp numbers but could the car take that kind of speed or would it literally blow the doors and panels off? what do u guys think?

Black- 2000 WS6 6spd Hooker LT
I think it's already been done, but I can't remember for sure. Like you said, you'd need a bunch more HP than stock, our normal top speed is near 165. Plenty fast for me! But it would be cool to be a member of the 200 MPH club. I remember reading that in car magazines the window would pop out of thier seals sometime when they did the test, and this was a stock car, so to go over 170 that at least would need to be fixed.

200mph? Absolutely. It would take some major mods, but I'm sure the body is aerodynamic enough to make it possible. Heck I think Banks made a Dodge Ram go 200 mph

Not on the interstate..
I personally would'nt want go 200 in one of these without totally changing the cars suspension layout. It's not precise enough imho.. Seriously think about all the quarks these cars have @ highway speeds.. @ 200 mph it be like riding a bucket of bolts into hell..

No no not on the interstate. I would only do on a closed course, a runway, or salt flats.

I was watching a video on youtube. It was an episode of garage 419 and the guy had a TT Ford GT. He claims it can run as fast as a veyron and his goal is to get it up to 300 mph. He said the power was there but he needed a wind tunnel to check the aerodynamics before putting it on the road and trying hands on. 300 fucking miles per hour Thats faster than the take off speed of a 747!!!

Imho @ 200+mph a T/A's head lights would no longer be a problem.. Cuz if you opened them you would'nt have them anymore..

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
yup..aero would be the real problem....the thing about those cars like the veyron etc is they have basically flat underside...ours dont...so when we are up in speed..that air gets in there and 1. lifts up on our car..and two pushes against it...we would need a real wing for sure..camaro drivers would need to buy a trans am..because it is better j/k (maybe) but yeah..we would need some real downforce and fab up a bottom. power is all relative really..the z06 gets there with a 505 crank and great gearing and aero.
