    method of payment?

Well i am about 2 mths away from having enough money to feel comfortable about lookin for a ws6 and I was just curious as to how you guys aquired your t/a. Did you pay cash, or was it finance? And if financed, how much higher was the total payoff compared to the market value of the car? I bought my '95 t/a for $3000 back in 2005, and it was a decent car with new heads and lower end. I sold it and then i financed my 2000 formula which total came out to be $9500.

yea cash is hard to come by these days. I may just take 4 or 5 thousand to put down on one. Ive seen some nice firehawks and ws6's for sale at some dealerships lately.

I wish I had some more cash too, I've seen 3 in the last month I want to rescue. 1 Firehawk, 1 WS6 T-top, 1 vert.

I'm sorta pissed, last yr I couldn't find one within 200 miles, I got lucky with the one I picked up, after a deal with a Firehawk went bad, i came home and she just popped up for sale. Now I see a shit load every where. I know ppl say you only now notice them because you have one. BS I always notice these cars.

    Paid cash for mine.

In the long run, you will save thousands not paying interest. Really the only way to go IMO, but understand its not always possible.

yea i never really gave a second look to these cars until i got my 95. I was always into the impala ss, caprice, and regals n such. But once i put my foot off into that t/a, all those other cars were washed from my mind.

HI-PO, i know what you mean. but like you said, its not always possible. thats why im workin up for a big down payment so it wont be as painful in the end. I wouldnt be in this boat if my formy wasnt stolen. I worked my ass off to save the money to put down on that car.

I paid cash. If you finance try to pay it off fast, like within a year.

Stay away from dealerships if at all possible. Always cheaper from a private owner.

Go to your bank and find out what you can get on a loan for the car. Get pre-approved so you know what you can afford, before you find a car you can't afford.

Once you locate your car of choice you can offer the owner cash because you already got it.

The guy I bought my WS.6 from wanted $12000. I picked it up for $9000 cash

    Cash always talks.

    99 WS.6 - Modified

Paid cash for mine. Used money from the retirement fund. Couldn't pass up the deal - $7500.00 for a 99 WS6 with 45k miles and no problems. Guy I bought it from paid $10k only a year earlier and put money in it. Better investment than my 401k - car at least held its value.
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

I financed mine through my bank but i had to put our truck as a backup i guess cause the car is salvage so the bank didn't wanna do it. The bbk value on it was 13g's at the time and the guy was selling it for 8g's. Well i got the 8g's financed and went a got her and i am now paying 220 a month.
