    the manual vs. automatic argument isn't all about drag racing. To me it is about the fact that NO automatic transmission can see the road and properly predict which gear the car should be in. Automatic transmissions give up a lot of driver control to make the car "easier" to drive. I love to heel/toe downshift, match my revs, engine brake.. all things you can't do in an automatic. Basically, around a track a skilled driver in a manual transmission will run faster laps than he would in a automatic car.

    not entirely but i can see where hes comming from. There is a reason why manuals trap higher in the 1/4. They might not get the best 60, but if you can drive i wouldnt worry to much about a stock auto. If hes stalled then ull def need gears. This thing has gone WAY to far. If the one guy didnt say a stalled LS1 is unbeatable then it wouldnt have gone this far.
