make my exhaust quieter
so i have the basic bolt on, tuned by frost, ls6 intake, k&n intake, LT headers, catless y pipe, flowmaster axle back, duel outlet. smog deleted and some other things that shouldnt effect volume. Wanting to make it quiter because i ordered an electric cutout so to avoid cops and increase chance of passing inspection id like to make it a bit quiter. Would adding a cherry bomb in the I pipe do the job without destroying the tone and flow

You could add cats to it, that would make it quieter. You could also replace the muffler with a quieter muffler. I wouldn't do a cherry bomb, I don't see how sound would make you fail inspection. Is your car ridiculously loud?

I'd add a bullet muffler in the I-pipe to tone things down. That's the easiest and cheapest way to go. Several to choose from. I guess you could do a cherry bomb/glass pack if you want to go cheap. I personally lean towards a stainless bullet muffler from a manufacture of your choice.

no its not crazy loud but in virginia anything louder then stock is not legal, if its loud it draws attention for them to look at the exhaust and finding no cats and a cutout

sebring silver- Y2K SS CAMARO
take the shitty blow master off and stick a magnaflow on it, itll sound great and be quiet as stock at idle or until you really lay into it. should pick up a few hp too since flowmasters are not known to flow worth a shit espeically on ls cars
as far as the cherry bomb added to it, thats your call i wouldnt if it were me because itll make it sound alot worse and wont really quiet down a whole bunch.
you could add cats but not really cost effective if you are trying to go cheap, in that case a magnaflow isnt very cost effective either but better to do it right the first time imo2000 ss camaro, forged lq9 370 short block, stage 3 PRC 243 heads, fast 102 w, big mouth throttle body, MS3 cam, 1.7 roller rockers, stage 3 t-56, monster stage 3, pro 5.0, 4.10's with moser axles, bmr tq arm, lca's, phb. I live in Virginia, my exhaust passed inspection but I have Cats but High-flow ones. I have 1 3/4" LT headers, catted y and the loudmouth 1 as far as exhaust. If you are worried about passing I would put some high-flow cats on there then it won't matter if they look under.
I can post a vid of how the volume of my exhaust is compared to yours. The guys who inspect my car looked under it and still passed it. I have never been pulled over for a sound violation even when a cop did pull me over for something else. Then again I have cats and no cut out.

Eh, sounds like most other catbacks. For the record you aren't going to gain anything in performance switching to another 3" catback, they all perform nearly identical in testing we did.
The best sounding (meaning less offensive) catback out there is the original and optional SLP dual/dual systems, that's why I've left them on both of our cars. Not made anymore however.
Buying another catback (to me) is spending alot of money unnecessarily. Magnaflow systems are somewhat quieter, but not enough to make me want to spend another $500, and they don't sound as sneaky as the dual/dual systems. These are reasons I feel the bullet muffler in the I-pipe is your best option, unless you really think the need is there to spend more money on another Y with cats?
Magnaflow makes a bullet, as well as flowmaster, Mac, and some others. You could even stick a loudmouth bullet in there to tone it down or a loud mouth II bullet in there would have even more effect.
I did the bullet muffler trick on a 4" Mufflex system we used on another car to tame it down. Worked like a champ, easy to fit, less fab work, and takes up virtually no extra space.

Your best bet is high flow cats. Then, you won't have too much of a worry about emissions. We worry here in the valley of the sun, but if it passes OBDII, then its fine. If they ever catch mine, then I will just put the high flows on it.

my other option is to move to Tennessee, which is actually not a big deal seeing as its 1 mile from my current house and i have a vacant house in TN i can use for mailing purpose

Tennessee. If I could move one mile to avoid emissions, I would already be there.
