    magnaflow cat back

Just bought one for my 98 ta vert. Any tips on install and do you think it is possible to install on jack stands. It is not here yet but should arrive some time this week. Thinking i am going to have to get the car way up to do this laying on my back or would it be better to give it to someone with a hoist and pay to have it installed.

I installed mine with the car on jack stands. It's pretty easy to install, the hardest part is getting the old exhaust off. The magnaflow system is really nice and comes with everything you need to install it.

You don't really need to jack it up, just back it up rear wheels on a pair of ramps. A lift is easier but this is an fairly easy home install

Put mine on with it on jackstands. Hardest part is getting old exhaust off. The magnaflow system goes on real easy.

Cut right in front of the rear axle and you should be able to get the old parts out. Recycle your old exhaust, You won't want to put it back on after you hear your Magnaflow :-)

I also feel the Magnaflow is top quality and workmanship. Having the right instructions, fasteners and hangers etc, goes a long way when you're on your back. I had a Borla system on a Corvette and it sounded real mean on start up and then the drone would settle in at highway cruising speeds and driving for any length of time was fatiguing. Keep in mind that the Magnaflow will get a more aggressive tone should you decide to add cam, head work, headers etc.

Installed and sounds good. I have heard it will get a little deeper after it is run abit. I goofed my first cut by not cutting high enough. I couldn.t get the car high enough to remove over the rear axle so i made another cut behind the axle which sucks for the old exhaust but i can`t see me ever putting it back on. Thanks everyone for the tips. Pretty easy job done by myself .

I love my Magnaflow catback. It will definitely sound deeper the more you drive it.
I went the more difficult route in taking my stock exhaust off as I wanted to keep it intact. So I had to drop the rear end. That was a fun day tho.

They also have great customer service. The hanger on the passenger side tip fell off my car after a year and left a hole in the piping and no way to secure it back up. Called Magnaflow and they just requested a bill of sale proving i bought it and they made a pipe up and sent it right out free of charge.
