My Lt1 dyno at 268rwhp and my 60ft was 2.05avg and that car turned 13.9 101mph.

Mach 1 has better gearing on the top end, so 13.7 to 13.8 sound honest. An LS1 A4 stock on avg is a 13.4 to 13.5 car. But both cars run about the same mph because a Mach 1's gear spacing is better than an A4 LS1. So at a roll from 60 to 100 both cars should run side by side (LS1 will pull slightly from 60 to 80 and from 80 to 100 the Mach 1 will catch up.) After aprx 105 the Mach 1 will have to shift and then the LS1 should start to pull away. IMO

lol if someone had a place for me to host some video...I have vids of me racing the same Z after I added an H-pipe and he put in an K&N filter and a flowmaster catback.

But when we were stock I'm talking side beside when I would shift he would put a foot on me which I would gain back till i would shift again.

EDIT: It would probably be Saturday night befor ei could put them on the computer.

tbo I have always looked at Mach 1's as just another GT with a flashy hood, but now I'll look at them the same way I look at Cobra's. Trouble.

my friend just bought a 04 with 2,000 miles and were taking a road trip in a week and getting a nice suite at a hotel and just party it up. I'm more excited to ride his car there now haha.

I've test driven an 03 mach 1 though and the power just doesn't feel the same as our cars. Our cars feel like they pull a lot harder then mach's. But thats just my opinion .

I like the machs...they have a lot of potential with the 4 valves and dohc's. They're a good choice for someone wanting a n/a mustang with actual power and potential but not wanting a blown cobra. If for some reason all the 98-02 fbodies disappeared, the mach would be my first choice. I have heard that the auto machs are a lot slower then the 5-speed

Yeah the auto machs redline a good bit lower than the 5speeds. And up high is where it's at in dohc 4.6's.

This automatic-equipped car showed a slight power dip just after the 2-3 shift, which felt like timing advance being dialed back or a transmission ratio choice just a little off.

And if MotorTrend can do it...anyone one can do it...

???? I'm not sure I get that. redline shouldn't change based on transmission

ok my boyfriend has one it is an interesting relationship. His 04 mach 1 put down 310hp at the dyno stock. They are not slow cars he pulled 13.1 with nittos and intke. His car now has full exhaust a nitrous express kit (has to keep up with the girlfriend because there is no replacement for displacement ) intake gears chip tune and of course his nittos. I do not touch him now. he is only allowed to race me without the nitrous until i can catch up. I like it, it is a good car we switch every now and then.

If you can prove to me that a stock Mach 1 can put down 300hp at a dyno I will trade in my T/A and drive a Ford Tempo.

OK, looking at the Mach 1 site 270rwhp and 13.6 is the norm. When people claim 13.2 stock its like F-body guys claiming a 12.8 stock. Maybe it happened but the DA was -200, sunny, with a 20mph backwind on a downhill track. More and more I check out about the car (Mach 1) I like them. The 5spd trans has a great first gear, not to heavy, subfram connectors, 4cam. I also think there the best looking of all the Mustangs. And it doesn't take much to put this car in the 12s. imo the LS1 holds about a .3sec advantage in 1/4 stock, and that is a drivers race.

I agree. Even though I would have said 13.5 was the norm

And the subframes suck...I mean who bolts in subframes???

heh heh...well, those 13.3s aren't common with average drivers, but i've seen it happan at E-Town...even saw a 12.9x once on one with DRs

i just like the fact that you get the 3.55s, the 32v DOHC and the solid rear

oh and Machs are 5 speeds aren't they?

They come in either auto or stick. Just like the good old days.

After reading this board, I'm all excited about cars again. I've actually ordered some parts for my car and got a few more on the list.
