    Macewen Motorsports White Gauge Overlay

I just got finished putting in my white faced gauges I got from-http://www.macewenmotorsports.com/pf415057-99-wht.html
They were kinda expensive, but I think they look great!!! I just wanted some feedback from you guys to know what you think. The install took maybe 30 min. The overlays are made so that you dont have to take the needles off of your gauges. I've done that before, and it sucks ass!!! This is an awesome kit and Id recommend it to anyone looking for white faced gauges. It was worth spending the $$$$$, for how easy they were to install!! Let me know what you think!!Attachment 11054

Some of the overlays require the removal of the tack and the speedo needle pointers; I was able to bend the overlay (w/o creasing) and slide needles through, the adhesive on the back side holds it in place.

This kit just slips right over the needles. it was the easiest thing I've done to my car. I'll get a night pic for ya.

Sound like the tack needle is bouncing off the needle stop pin, I don't think thumping on the dash is a good idea, if the needle is sticking at a given position and the gauge over lay is not bubbled up causing needle to stick I would say the Tack is defective. Is the Tack needle sticking at several positions or at the same position each time?

no like when you turn the ignition off and the needle drops to the bottom pin, it jus sits there, its gotten better but I still know its messing up so its gotta be fixed. my dad works at gm and its about $300 for a new cluster. they dont even bother fixing them, they jus replace them. and does anyone know how to change the color of the l.e.d.'s in the cluster? i've pulled it completly out but didn't pull any bulbs cause i didnt wanna break it

Those are real nice! My only concern is that enough light will shine through with stock gauge lighting.

Actually the back lighting (red) comes though the template as it is semi-frosted clear plastic for the numbers, lines above numbers, the MPH and RPM X1000 also lights up fine with stock lighting. I actually use the dimmer set it to a soft setting and it looks great. I don't have a picture of it light-up right now but you can see from this pic that the areas I was talking about are a lighter shade than the rest of the template. If you’re not sure I could snap a shot of gauges when back light is on? Let me know...
