yeah i dont see the need (personally) to rev the engine any higher. my rev limiter is actually set at 6400. all my power is made well before i reach 6400...one runs into the risk of valve float that anything really high RPM, and i dont care to grenade my engine, but again, that's just me...

Where i got it tuned they said, when racing that i should shift at 6500 rpm and so i do so or try but he said he set my limiter to 6600 so i wouldn't push my luck a lil far and fuck anything up! So i just bout me a shift light and set it to 6500 for racing purposes! My HP and TQ dropoff didn't start till 6800!

Dont listen to that bullshit if you still make power at 6800 and you have a complete valvetrain upgrade then set your limiter for 6800.

I shall now set it to 6800, i gotta go back sometime next week and see why SES light came on again ... I hate that light, its like a dream killer!!! He said he could do some more fine tuning and maybe get another 2-3 hp out of it for free, whoo hoo, cause it cost me 350 for the tunin, which in my opinion is not bad! I think he said my last SES was for misfire due to cam, so i'm gonna have him investigate that as well!!!

i agree w/what you say, im not saying they cant run at that RPM cause i know they can. but yes like you commented, depends on your setup. i have an under the power cam (small 224 cam), where as such running it that high is not benefical to me or my setup. now if the TSP 231/237 cam i have sitting on my floor wants to breathe and make more power past 6400rpm i can have the limiter set even higher. bascially i want to max out this 224 cam before stepping up to the TSP 231/237. im already putting down some sick numbers for a cam that size, and that's what i like...

I know your numbers are good,i hope mine are that good seeing as i have a 224 cam as well that im installing with my new heads over winter, i wasnt speaking to you to turn your limiter higher, if thats where you stop making power then by all means set it there, im just saying if you continue to make power past that and you have good performance parts then there is no reason not to open it up more, i have a couple friends who redline at 7200rpms, of course he is making a little over 730rwhp, and the other is in the 600s.

Thats way to much Hp for me, 450 will be my stopping point!
