LS6 block stock in 01-02 TAs??
So I was reading a book on modifying the LS1 and it stated that some birds recieved the LS6 block instead of the LS1. I know some got the LS6 intakes but blocks as well? How would one go about finding out without ripping the engine apart? Any truth to this? I can't find a thing on any type of bird tech info....

Try a search here, on ls1, I know Ive seen others talking aobut this. Seems to be a way to tell, but no benefit. Curiosity is the only thing I think you are going to itch.

01 and 02 got the ls6 intake, but because of a shortage in ls1 blocks some also got the ls6 block, you can tell by looking at the # on the block. Also I heard the ls6 block had better cooling than the ls1 blocks, but weather or not there is any truth behnid that, I dono.

My 02 had a stock LS6 block...I found out upon the replacing of it with an LS6 block lol. The difference is it still uses LS1 internals and LS6 blocks have better bay to bay breathing but the gains are nil when comparing to an LS1 block car. The only way to know is to locate the casting number on rear of block.
'02 ws6.....mods? nope
