I get 22 with half city half highway daily driving.

Remember though that you will be putting premium gas in the car, not regular. Since you were looking at gas costs.

Good Point ... Damn ... Can It Take Regular ... Or maybe "Mid-Grade"... Or does it have to be Premium?

it's only like $50 bucks per 16.6Gallon tank... not that bad... considering SUV's like my old Explorer...would take $60 on just REGULAR...

Oh I'm getting a V8 ... Hopefully the LS1 (2002 TA) ... Just had to convince the parents that I could get over 20 MPG on average... I think I'll just keep the Premium part to myself...

2002 M6 WS6 on highway (with a few 'quick' on ramp mergers ), almost 28 mpg with the t-tops off! Was averaging that driving from Florida to Kentucky via I-95, I-26, I-40 (even over the mountains!), I-75, I-64. Was the first long distance road trip in it! Very impressed!! I think my Integra is jealous! lol!

my old 1990 VW Vanagon had to take premium, and it got 8 mpg. and it was the slowest thing I've ever driven. Camaro was a definite upgrade. haha

I pulled 28+ on the highway last weekend with my M6 formula. Driving 78 to 80mph in hillyterrain windows up, Ttops on and air conditioning blasting. . That included one fourth gear blast from 80 to 110 to get away from a truck and trailer.

My motor is stock with a K&N filter. Only because I was racing in a showroom stock class. Stock gearing as well. I have gone from a 245/50/16 to a 275/35/18 so that may account for some decrease in milage.

I have gotten over 29 on the Highway before. Usually about 16 to 20 in town depending on driving habits.

It sounds like with some bolt ons and a tune 30+ on the Highway is no problem.

What kind of milage are the cars with heads and lots of mods running?

Like others have already said, the LS1 only likes 93 and up. I tried a lower octane once and it started throwing codes.

Just keep the premium part to yourself and tell your parents it gets at least 25 mpg and enjoy.

If you get it, welcome to the club!!! Post pics asap as well.

Hmm, guess this is the last time I put 87 octane in the tank, thankfully I have only done it once!

18/25 is about what I get with my '02 M6, when I keep my foot out of it. When I first got her, learnin' stick with a heavy right foot I got as low as 12mpg! Burned $15 in gas within 4 hours of hitting the pump. Man that was a good night though!

But let me tell ya you're gunna love this car, bro! I got my very first T/A at 16 (pic to my left) and I've been driving one ever since (2 yrs now have switched to LS1 from LT1, 1 ticket hehe), and am going to until gas goes above $6.

Let me advise you on something tho, NEVER drive over 5ovr the speed limit! If you've never been pulled over before, and you get pulled over with your pants down(aka going wayy over the speedlimit!) like I was, the cops are going to show absolutely no pity, so expect none(avoid this situation at ALL costs, believe me)!! Watch your surroundings carefully, pick and choose where you open 'er up, don't let other people choose for you! You stick to those ground rules and you'll more than likely do just fine.

yeah im gonna have to go ahead and disagree with the premium only part. why dont we all be honest and say that until you get a cam and a tune you can run regular octane gas. i do it when i have little money or the gas prices are outrageous. it does absolutely nothing to a stock ls1, and it does not knock whatsoever. yes it makes a difference but not enough to condemn regular.

i wouldnt run regular with forced induction or a cam but a stock engine is fine getting it.

ive had 87 in the tank for the past two weeks and raced several times since then. still owning pretty much everything, still tailing cobras by 4 lengths, same as always.
