    LS1 breaking point

    does anyone know how much hp the ls1 block can handle? i know internals are good for roughly 500hp, but after those are replaced whats the limits of the block? any help would be great thanks

    I recall reading in a post, that linked to a High Performance Pontiac or other magazine like that that said the aluminum block LS1 is good for up to 500 - 600 max. After that, you need to go to a cast iron 6.0l block and suggests dry sump oil pump. With that you can go to somewhere over 1400HP if you so desire.

    I'm going from memory, so I suggest doing some searching and you should find a link to that article somewhere on here.
