Try adding some oil to your engine. The LS1 dipstick is kind of ambiguous sometimes, if the oil is on gathered up on the sides of the dipstick it may not actually be the true oil level.

Replace the oil level sensor. Its in the pan, I believe it on the passenger side near the starter

K, I've replaced the sensor, and the Low Oil Light (lol?) still stays on. The oil has been recently changed, 5.5 quarts added. I can start the car first thing in the morning and the light will be on. If I drive it for a few miles, turn off the car and restart it, the light will go off.
This makes no immediate sense. With the car cold, there's more oil in the pan, why would the light come on with more oil in the pan?

How many times have you duplicated that? maybe it was just a one time fluke? Otherwise you might bad sensor or a wiring issue.

Is your Change Oil Light on too by any chance? My car was doing something similar to this when my Change Oil Light came on, all i did was reset it and the Low oil and Change oil light went off.

I bought one sensor, didn't change anything. I took the sensor back as defective and when the second sensor didn't change anything I assumed it to be something with the wiring.
You wouldn't happen to know if the oil light comes on when the ciruit is open or closed would you?
Nope, no change oil light. I don't even think mine has one if it does, it's never came on before.

im actually having this same issue, just out of pure randomness, my low oil light came on, and i know for a fact my oil is absolutely perfect. and as i was driving the change oil came on once or twice then just vanished so clearly its a sensor or wire issue. besides the sensor in the pan, is there another one that might have to be changed as well?

Only the sensor on the passenger side of the pan. Be sure to check the wire harness for damage and the connectors for corrosion before you swap it out.

It is a very simple fix -- the sensor simply threads into the side of the pan and can be changed out in a matter of minutes. Best to do it during the course of an oil change though.
