    LED Fog Light Upgrade

Finally got my SMD 5050 13-LED 880 893 Foglight Light White Bulb Lamp in the mail today. Took quite some time, came from Honk Kong, about 3 weeks from the day I purchased them from eBay. Cost $19.95 with free shipping. As you'll see, it seems they are more for cosmetics than practicality, meaning the look amazing, but aren't significantly brighter while driving, possibly even remove the functionality of having fog lights. They seemed to light up objects that were alittle farther away better than the stockers (while driving), despite what the pics looks like. These are probably the next best thing to upgrading to HID, so if your broke like I am, I'd give these a try.

    LED vs Stock

Never realized how dirty she is till I took these pics, so sad. LED's.

Here's the ebay link, at least for those who check this post within the next seven days. They always repost them.

They look good, but are they actually brighter than the stock bulbs?? Hard to tell from the pics.

When your standing in front of the car, they def. look brighter. Probably because they are that sharp, bright white. But, for how a fog light works, it doesn't light up the ground as well as the stocks bulbs while driving. But (again) it seems to shine higher than the stock bulbs and slightly lights up more area, but not brighter. I hope that made sense.

I know what you mean, thats what I figured since they were LED's. They are bright as hell from straight on, but when viewed from an angle they aren't as bright, and they beam width is much more narrow.

They look better from all angles, but don't necessary out perform from all angles (compared to stock). I use to use the SilverStars, but I would pop at least 1 year, and at $20per, I don't bother anymore. They outperformed the stock, and actually probably the closest to HID in performance, but these LED's look the part of an HID.

I imagine that's all that matters to some.

I just need some LED's in my DRL/Turn signals to match it all up. Haven't been able to find any yet (that work).

Yeah I might have to get me some of those. When I did my front plate light up Mod they look more blue than yellow, so this would make them look the same. Thanks!!

And I do not want to spend the money for the HID kit.

    Your very welcome!

If anyone knows of some LED's for DRL that would work, please post it here. This way we can get some matching setups the the whole front end looks the same. (I'm still trying to find a cheaper set that works.)

So these just pop right in the stock socket without a problem?

Yup, just as easy as replacing the stock bulbs. Mine were alittle tight in turning them into the locking position, but other than that no problems.
