Lambo doors on a 1999 Trans Am
My 12 year old son wwants us to put Lambo doors on our 1999 TA, however, i am usually the one doing most of the work and paying ALL of the bills. I was trying to research the difficulty factor before committing to even thinking about it. So, any tips? Like ... run...run really fast...leave them damn verticle doors alone...or whatever you kids say these days...thanks in advance....D

The general consensus is that they make sense with our long doors, but they are a pain to install, and poorly made. = bad idea. Have someone jazz up your interior instead.

so your looking for opinions then?
..get your kid a 1995 honda civic and put the lambo doors on that. he'll probably want to add some extra spoilers, stickers, turbo tornado intake and a fart can, this is normal.

To quote you "run...run really fast". I personally don't know of any well-made kits nor do I like the look of them. Good for him wanting to help mod out the TA just steer him in another direction.

Lol baseball cards in the spokes. I haven't seen any kids with that "mod" in years.

Don't do it. Who's car is it anyway LOL. And I know about the cards in spokes thing! I may have even done that back in the 70s.

Frankly, I often wish my car had lambo doors. Rice or not, I get tired of not being able to open the dang 12 foot long doors without hitting the things around me, or having to squeeze gently in/out of the car because I can't open the doors...
Some of them lambo options can be used to open the door normally still or vertically when you choose, rather than vertically only. With that, you could open them normally and not always advertise that they're lambo, and only do it when you need to or when your kid wants to look cool for other kids. Something to think about if you haven't already...

it has the LS1 in it and I think it has already been tinkered with because it squeels tires through third gear and usually I back off on it after that because I am pushing 60 or 65 and I cannot bring myself to pay a speeding ticket...I said "it will skin it back for you" and then I had to go into an hour block of instruction on what that means....What are they teaching kids in school these days when a 12 year old don't know what that means.........

that car has at least 15 extra gauges that I could count, flames, a body kit, oversized wheels, two bottles of nitrous...
