towards the end of production of the 4th gens they started running out of ls1 intakes and started using the ls6 because of availability. Also goes with some engines even got the ls6 blocks or heads i believe. just what ive heard.

Some of the 2000 owners could check their intakes and their build dates . . . maybe we could find a couple LS6 cars and see what dates they were built to get an idea. If it is true, then potentially if you have August cars with LS6 and July cars without, for example, you could say it happened then.

ls6 does not have a egr hookup on it unless you order it from a shop with it like slp.
ls6 is also bigger than the ls1 to allow for more air to flow.

The original passengercar intake (LS1) was discontinued after the 2000 model year, The new Passenger car intake (LS6) replaced it on all LS1 and LS6 engines 2001 through 2004.
