i have the same problem. Even people that know that it is a Trans Am still call it a camaro. At least its still a nice LS1 car and they are not calling it a mustang!

you ask why do people keep calling your T/A a camaro. i feel your pain, and i've come to the conclusion that those people are just plain stupid, lol. don't feel bad camaro owners go thru the same thing. my friend has a 81 camaro and most people call it a T/A. lol

LOL, the 10 year old across the street called my 81 TA a camaro yesterday, his father corrected him right away, the boy replied aren't they the same and his father replied no and excplained a few of the differences suspension, engine etc. Kinda impressed me that the boys dad knew that much about Trans Ams.

I once had a person at a red light ask me if my car was an SS.... I tell him its not a camaro, but it is a WS6. Again, he asks... but is it an SS?..... I couldn't wait for the light to turn green....

i think i read somewhere that pontiac was going to name the trans am a sebring, but Chrysler used id. atleast i havnt had someone call it a prelude yet..

As long as I am not at a car show, I'm happy enough that they get that close. Hell, the two cars came off the same assembly line, right? Lord knows I have swapped enough Camaro parts onto my TA's. You'll never hear it from a guy who knows cars, so what does it matter?

Since we are telling stories, I was speeding thru my schools parking lot and i got stuck behind the line of cars waiting to leave and i was like three cars away from leaving campus and i see my schools officer running and he sure enough walks beside my window and knocks on it so i roll it down and he said tomorrow you need to see the principal i was like why he said because the assistant principal saw your CAMARO speeding, I wanted to say What are you talking about I don't have a camaro and speed off but that wouldn't have gone so well. It would of been funny though.

the only thing that bothers me is when people call my car a mustang. this one pissed me off:

i had a cop write pontiac camaro on a speeding ticket once.

the other night leaving work i had a guy from some mustang camaro shop ask if it was a firebird. he told me he worked on our cars all day, but didnt know the difference between a firebird and a trans am.
