just look for it, its there might be on the backside off all the other wires, its held in place with some tape too, i had to cut some of the tape to get slack

go to radio shack and find the drawer they keep resistors in, basically they all have different numerical values, just add them up to get as close to 11,801 as possible. (bring a calculator if you suck at math like me)

    key 15 = 11,801
this might be a good combo if they have them:
    5.6k+5.6k+560+39=11799

if they dont have those, the range you have to work with is anywhere from 11,328 - 12,292

also you'll want 1/2 watt resistors to keep it simple. wattage is shown on the front of the package as 1/2 or 1/4. also shows toloerance right next to that which should be 5%.

    i had key 12 which = 6,040 so i got a pack of 4.7k, 1k and 330 to get a total of 6,030

2 things...... you really need the 5% resistors if you didn't buy those the first time and you need to get they combined values of your resistors as close to that median number as possible.

i've heard of it happening, your system is in pass/fail mode it sounds like, just add extra sauder where you need to and get it all together solid and see what happens

so, you have to solder 4 resistors together to get the resistance in the proper range of the chip that is in the key? For example, my key is #6, which calls for 1470 ohms of resistance. I would have to add up the resistance values to equal 1470. Don't they make one resistor valued at 1470 + or - 5%?????

more than likely no, GM made sure it wasnt easy to replicate with just one resistor, but it doesnt have to be exact, you can add resistors up to equal anywhere from 1411-1549. the closer to 1470 the better though obviously
