Black- BLK TA modded 12.2@113mph
I think I'm nuts bought a second TA
Ok I was looking around because I have my 99 Trans AM for sale and when I found this 2000 black on black Trans am with 36000miles or 57000km "Canada" I just couldn't resist a guy that just didn't know what he had got it for $8000 it was parked for 3 years so it needs a major cleaning and detailing no dents but a few surface scratches original owner I got everything with it including all manuals t top covers front plate cover and a gm cover.
My 99 has 108000 miles and I was scared of modding it so now I think supercharger my buddy has one with 10 000 miles on it and he says 3 grand so maybe I will as soon as I sell my 99 the money goes in modding
So the new one is bone stock so I will swith rims tires slp lid etc Shouls I switch my cat back Flowmaster or just keep the original exhaust ???
The new car has an after market system and my old one has deck and changer will it hook up to the wire harnest of my 2000 and does the 2000 has anything different motor wise than my 99 I think I saw you guys talk about a different dome?
What makes the WS 345HP vs my regular TA at 305 the hood and intake only???????

Navy Blue Metallic- `98 Formula M6 HdTp
Nothing an LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1, they all make approx 345-350 HP.
The GM ratings are BS but for reference the original ratings are as follows.
Base Z28/Formula/Trans Am
1998-2000 = 305 HP 335 TQ
2001-2002 = 310 HP 340 TQ
WS6/ base SS
1998-2000 320 HP 340 TQ
2001-2002 325 HP 345 TQ
Firehawk*/SLP Optioned SS
1998 327 HP 340 TQ (exhaust only)
1999-2000 330 HP 345 TQ (exhaust only)
2001 335 HP 355 TQ (exhaust only)
2002 345 HP 365 TQ (blackwing lid and exhaust)
* The base Firehawk Pkg came std with the better exhaust (Dual Dual) and Blackwing Lid (2002) both of which were optional on the SS.Craig

2002 C5 - M6 - Blue- 2000 Z28 - A4 - Pewter
The difference in the corvette was fuel delivery and air intake, along with a different exhaust setup. There are some other small things, but the corvette is a totally different engineered setup.
As for HP differences, the above mentioned, hit the nail on top of the head. If its a TRUE WS6, it should come with a better shocks/struts, swaybar, closer steering ratio, and some years came with a power steering cooler. It's nothing really, as most folks change all of this whether they have a non ram-air formula or TA (obviously). To collector's, its important.

Black- BLK TA modded 12.2@113mph
Thanks
I do appreciate the responses That's what I thought I am very happy with my new car and I am ordering a hood and a supercharger for it so the parts will go on in the spring as well as a sway bar set up trans cooler and shocks I have rims tires on my old one so I will pull the old switch but besides that very happy with my new toy, thanks again for the info I do appreciate it I was hoping that the extra power was in 2000 not 2001 but with a supercharger I don't think it will matter much lol
