people are funny.. when I was telling some classmates that I was looking at trans ams, one of them laughed at me, and said I should get some 80s Honda and drop in some engine I had never heard of, I imagine it was of the 1.8L variety, and put a turbo on it, and for a few grand, it'll "beat just about anything out there."

I guess some people, when figuring out bang for buck, just put together cost and hp.. not other factors.. like how long it'll last.. how it looks.. etc.

I'd call a $14/15k low mile WS6 great bang for your buck!

Ive got 9 grand into my supra it ran low 11s, that was ,3500 for targa top turbo 87 supra, New engine, New tubro, intercoooler piping, new fuel system, stock but tuned supra computer, rebuilt and slightly built 5 speed, rear end with 3.73s, street tires 285s out back, some suspension upgrades. It can out handle my Lowered T/A. But i still have more fun in the T/A. Oh yeah it put down just over 500rwhp in the full weight of almost 3900lbs with me in it. Soon to be the 14k setup about what a 01 or 02 WS6 would go for, hoping for low 10s.

being an avid fbody fan for years, and a subaru enthusiast, i can say first hand that you can get far more bang for your buck in the american muscle world than you can in the foreign turbo world. the question comes down to the simple fact: do you want to do what everyone else does, or do your own thing? Even hondas now are becoming the same old same old. now if i can just keep myself from tearing down the t/a and making a beast out of it like i am my subie ill be happy

Yes but i see more Trans ams then i do supras, even pre 90s supras, and if they are pre there are either stock with just exahust or non-turbo. I hardly ever see a built pre 93 supra.
