i finally found out what it was

THE other day my car just shut off and i when i started it sounded awful .I found out that one of my valve springs just broke into little pieces ,and the mechanic tells me that it is very unusual for a valve spring to break my car has only 68 thousand miles. My question is would this happen if the person who owned the car before me put high performance parts in certain areas like a camshaft and neglet other parts of the car or is the valvetrain that weak.

The stock springs are weak but that shouldn't happen. Theres a definate possiblity that there was an aftermarket cam in at one point without the necessary valvetrain upgrades. Very unlikely but possible.
