    I don't get it

I bought my car on ebay. It supposedly has 384 RWHP. I haven't really done anything else to it except port my MAF. I can't even keep up with the 2005 C5 Corvette. Whats up with that.

I have cam, long tubes, y pipe, flow master, slp air lid, supposedly dyno tuned. and 4.10's

    WHAT GIVES.

I know it wasn't a ZO6. I'm going to get it dynoed in a couple of weeks.

Maybe the corvette you were running wasnt exactly stock either.

And the 2005 Corvettes are C6.

Here is a link that shows what the C6's are running.

Not being able to keep up with a C6 in natural, mainly because of the C6's weight per horsepower is probably lower then yours.

We race on the street, not on the dyno. Sounds like you need some more suspension work and some Drag Radials.... Is it out of the hole? Where are you launching? Should be about 2K if it is a M6.

My car is a M6. I've been launching at around 3000. prolly a bit much. I really need some better tires. I have Comp TA's. Need to invest in some Nittos or Street Slicks. I don't drive it when its raining anyways.

    Maybe it's the driver... j/k

I agree with you're post above, get you're car dyno-tuned yourself, and see what you're really working with.

Launch at 2k when I did that I just lit up the backend had to let off catch traction and then go! What am I doing wrong?

I launch mine on the street around 1500-2000 and they chirp a little, but then car gets down the road. My tires are newer and I am no expert driver. What are you doing wrong? I don't know. You know your car better than anyone. All these cars are mod'd, so all the variables are different. Some have suspension work and some don't. For me and my car that is what works best.

    Good luck,

    Gene

Yeah, launch at 2k, anything more and you'll forget what traction is. It takes a long time and a lot of abuse to learn to take off good with a m6. I had mine for 4 1/2 years and all along i thought I knew what I was doing, but every day there was room for improvement. Also you need it dyno'd not just to know what you're pullin down but you need to know where your powerband ends with that cam. Taking it too high will kill your 1/4 speed because once power starts dropping off at the top of your powerband it drops FAST.

He can be doing everything right, but if he's not pushing more then 400hp or 400lb-ft he won't be able to beat a C6

A Vette is 400 at the flywheel not at the rear wheels. So technically he has more horsepower than the Vette. The vette is probably about 360-365 twhp taking into the consideration for 15% drive train loss on a m6 or 18% for a a4.
