    How to remove console

    I need to put a different shifter in as the car I bought had the hurst stick part cut.

    1. Unscrew the Shifter Handle.
    2. Remove the Shifter Boot...should be a plastic ring, just bend it a little and it will come off.
    3. Unbolt the stick from the shifter.
    4. Unscrew the two (7mm) bolts inside the console.
    5. Pull the front part of the console back and out.
    6. Unbolt the main console from the body...there are two screws (10mm) in the foot compartments (driver and front passenger), 1 under the cupholder and a few on the bottom of the console compartment. Take his out and placve in the back seat.
    7. Unscrew the rubber boot from around the shifter. Should be 7mm screws.
    8. Unbolt the Shifter from the Transmission. There are 4 bolts, I think they are 14 or 15mm in size.

    To reassemble just reverse the above.
