i ordered my y pipe through summitracing. i bought the y pipe for the full length headers. (Flowtech) i think i paid around 500 for them both. if your looking for a y pipe for shorty or stock headers, i wouldnt even bother spending the money. spring for the full lengths, lot more power, even with cats

I have my cats still on, not because i have to but because taking them off is supposed to add 3-5 horse.. well according to motor-trend anyway.

full lengths and no cats will be higher hp numbers and better gas mileage and your forgetting about torque numbers, all depending on the application of course. with a lot of mods, your gain is definetly higher than five hp.

They have us go through a sniffer and visual check.
    I don't have cats.

Although I will have something soon enough to get tags.

    For what setup??

Long Tubes w/o cats will give you more HP and more TQ accross the RPM range.

It should still give you a slight increase in torque.

really? im going completley by hearsay on this site... but i thought someone said removing cats will increase higher end, but decrease lower end power due to the decrease in backpressure in the exhaust. am i just talkin outta my ass?

You would need a rather large decrease in back pressure to really lose any noticeable torque. Like running a 4" true duals or something lol. Removing the cats isn't going to cause you to lose any low end power, really.

hmm.. even my shop teacher told me that removing cats wouldnt increase power, but it could even decrease it due to lack of backpressure.

i asked him about doing it to my lumina just for fun (no flaming please lol) and he told me it was a bad idea....
