    Yeah well the ole' red brick still works. Bought it probably 20 years ago! Work supplies the scanners now.

    It takes considerably less than 200 hp to make it to 100 mph. To double your speed, it takes 4 times the power. Obviously, aerodynamics affects the numbers, but if a Z06 can do 200 (rounding) with about 510 crank hp, that implies it takes the same car 127 hp to make 100. That may be optimistic, but it's close. My '97 Monte Carlo had no trouble breaking through 100 with its 160 hp V6.

    Horsepower is such a relative term though. you have to consider, weight and aerodynamics into the mix. My 93 Pontiac Sunbird (first car) could do about 110mph before it ran out of steam, right in the power band of third gear. That car had 90hp from the factory, (mine had less im sure as it was beat up bad) and the only thing I ever did to it was put a hose to the intake in a kinda redneck ram air setup. Hard telling, I know I've had my stock T/A to about 150 before I chickened out on it. I believe the governer was set at 167mph from the factory.

    lol...my third car was a 1990 Chevy Beretta...I swear that car had less than 100hp...I got it to 120mph before it ran out.

    My GTP has the hp to do over 150mph, but as I approach that mark (150), you can literally feel the car being affected by drag. This is at about 3/4 through 4th gear, so there is still pulling power there, just not enough aerodynamics.

    Lol, it took a little bit to get there thats true, I honestly don't know, maybe a minute or so I'd guess. Plenty long enough that I wasnt running away from anything in a race except maybe a pedal bike.

    I purchased mine off ebay with a lot of mods.Stock speedo needle willl start bouncing once its been buried a while without letting up.Yea dangerous illegal and all but damn I feel like a saint benard in the back of a pick up truck.I have to wipe the slobber off the back seats..lol

    ^^^ same here bone stock hit 130 with the t-tops off, but its was so noisy we pulled over put the tops on and hit 162~ havnt gone that fast since

    well i redlined at 98ish in third...all stock
    went to pass a GT up a long hill and naturally he had to be an asshole...just about hit a truck headon thanks to his little stunt...
    1st is about 45ish
    2nd no idea...
    never redlined 4th before

    over all top...154 then ran out of road
