How do you find out if my 2000 T/A has the NHRA pkg. done to it?
I just recently bought the car from a dealership and he told me that it has a NHRA Comp 2 Package done to it. I have no idea what that is but i looked it up and it was telling me some things about how the NHRA T/A's are rare. I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out and tell me a way to find out if my Trans Am has a NHRA Pkg. done to it. Thanks very much.

the car would have nhra badges on the front fenders. They are pretty rare and came as a T/A or formula. But there is only 1 version no stage 2 or anything that i know of.

Collector Yellow (54U)- 2002 Trans Am CE
General info on the NHRA editions:
The NHRA Special Edition was a commemorative edition offered from 2000 to 2002. It was created to help celebrate Pontiac’s major sponsorship of the National Hot Road Association (NHRA) which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2001.
The NHRA Edition package (1SH) cost around 1k, it added a 3.23 A4 or a 3.42 Hurst M6 rear end, power steering cooler, P245/50ZR16 tires, badges and a keychain produced by Morgan Design Group. The only colors that were available with the 1SH option code were red, white, pewter, and black.

Mine is Pewter color and is a WS6, some people told me that you cant get the NHRA pkg with a WS6. It was eiter or. But who do you know of that i might be able to give my vin # to, to see if i can have someone look it up to see if it is a NHRA pkg T/A. Cause its possible to remove the badges.

So are these NHRA Edition T/As different from the 30th Anniversary and Black Birds then? Geez... how many "special editions" did they put out in the last 2 years of production? lol.

He gave you the code up top just look on your door sticker for 1SH. And what was the mileage and how much did you pay because thats false advertisement.

I paid 17 for it and it has 46k miles, pretty low, and i asked the dealer what the NHRA pkg was and it seemed like he didnt know to much about the pkg.

Not to sound like a dick but you basically got a t/a for the price of one with the WS6 package. I just payed 18 for my 02 WS6 44k miles. If it did have the nhra package it would have the decals unless they were removed which would make no sense. Did you check for the code on your door?

I think your dealer was a bit confused (as many of them are) and thought that the WS6 package was somehow related to the NHRA package, which of course it isn't.
You can't have both....the NHRA can only be had on Base model Formula's and Trans Am's with the sleek hood, regular exhaust and 16-inch wheels.
NHRA's are pretty slick looking cars and I hate to see one that isn't taken care of. Heck, I hate to see any LS1 bird that isn't taken care of!

The first thing i do when i get a day off of work is wash my t/a, nothings more satisfying than seeing it spotless inside and out.(ok maybe i can think of a few other things)
