Hood spring force -- question???
I searched and didn't find anything so here goes. I swapped out the stock steel hood for a fiberglass Ram air hood. Obviously it's less weight than the steel one, so when I pull the hood release, it pops up with some pretty strong force. Maybe it's not a big deal, but I just think over time it could cause cracking. Does anyone know if the spring latch is different on the Ram air car versus a standard steel hood car??? My guess is no, but anyone that had the steel and switched to fiberglass must know what I'm talking about, right??
Maybe I'm worried about nothing, but wanna be sure. Or maybe there is a mod I could do to reduce the spring force??? I haven't looked at the latch real close yet.

You could always bet rid of the hood struts and just use a prop rod to hold the up. Cuz cause some up the sudden slamming up of the hood also i would think. then you also wouldnt have to close your hood with so much force either.

I had a true fiber hood and i think it would kinda bold out when i had them connected and i know it would pop up with force when i opened it.
What i did was I didnt not connect the shocks to the hood just to the car and connect them when ever i had to work on it.
but i rather have a true Ram Air hood then an after market
