I have mine "polished" up. When I purchased the car, the previous owner had them paint, and then clearcoat the Trans Am and logo on the filler panel. Well some of the clear coat had been chipped and I didn't like the look of it. So I purchased one off Ebay that was fading, used some Acetone on a rag to remove the left over red color, and then waxed it up. I honestly like the way it looks better. Here are some pictures.
Don't mind all the dirt in this picture, it had been snowing a lot and my Trans Am is my daily driver, so I was using it as Santa's Sleigh.
This is the piece I bought off from Ebay, and what it looked like:
Here is what it looks like all polished up and installed.
And another reason I like removing the logo and writing with Acetone, is because it still leaves the slightly raised area where it was, so its almost a "ghost" effect as you can still see it if you look at it close enough. You can slightly see the Trans Am lettering along the reflection of the roofline of the house
If anyone would like any more information as to this process prior to trying it yourself, just to make sure you don't make a mistake, feel more than welcome to contact me with questions.

And I'm actually thinking about getting some black reflective vinyl with the writing and logo to put on there. That way it won't be visible against the black background until light hits it just right.
