    Thanks Justin, I'm probably old enough to be your dad! LOL. But of course, if I still had these cars, I would have cars worth a lot of money, but I wouldn't want to sell any of them. Unfortunately, I had to sell the previous one in order to buy the next one, which is normally the way it works out. When you get my age, and finally pay one off, then it's possible to keep the one you have and save enough to buy the next one, just wish it didn't take this long to have learned this. All of the previous cars have memories that will never be forgotten, and for that, I am very thankful.

    Yes 1967 is the answer...I had one and it too was light blue with white top.

    Hint: the quickest way to tell if a 1st gen is a '67 is to look for the triangular vent window...only the '67 had them. I believe the front parking lights were also a bit different but don't remember the details.

    Yup, the first F-bodies are quickly id'd that way. In 1968, the government stepped in with a design feature still required today, cars must have marker lights visible from the side, hence the marker light change on the 1968 Firebird and all other cars sold in the US. This is always an easy way to make a better guess at what year a car is when you see it. If it has no side marker lights, it's gonna be before 1968.

    My '67 400 4-spd, sold in 2000 (had it for 11 years) before I bought the'98 TA.
    Note the 1968 front turnsignals/marker light:

    Here's another little factoid.. The very first car (non production) to actually carry the "firebird" name was actually powered by a turbine, or jet engine..

    my brother had a '67 400 ram air drop top with a 4 speed. That was a great car to cruise around in. His had a hood tach that lit up at night....thing was sweet. I'd love to rig up a hood tach on mine.

    I always liked the 1970 Formula Firebirds. Loved that dual scoop snorkle hood.

    [QUOTE=black on black 87 gta.and put a ls1 in it![/QUOTE]

    Have to agree with this quote... but, that would take a bit of work.

    They were nice looking cars in those years just needed the LS1 motor for them.

    theres one in my home town, '74, bigblock, yellow, ALL original, but REALLY dilapidated (has antpiles all inside the moldy interior). the ANCIENT owners gotten nice offers for it but wont sell, i tried to give him 4 but he wouldnt hear it, a friend of mine offered 8 and someone else offered him 11, its a downright shame..

    I like the '73's with 455 SD. 730 of them made? Rare but, awesome:

    Add a Doug Nash 5 speed to one of these you'd have a all time winner:

    I did like the dual scoop Formula 400 though...
