    Not a bad deal. I just bought a 2000 WS6. 6 speed, mint condition, 66k mileage and a clean carfax. I spent 12k on it. So I don't think it was a bad deal at all.

    I love my Formula, had I been able to buy one of these cars new that's what I still would have bought.

    Back on topic, the price looks good, especially with that mileage. As long as it's in good shape and has a clear Carfax, I'd go for it.

    As far as the 'Formula' being mentioned in that add, I see that all the time, I think they do that so they get more hits when people do searches.
    Firebird rankings....

    Firebird= chic
    Formula=Rooster
    TA= Garuda
    WS6= Griffin
    Firehawk= Legendary Phoenix

    btw Rice is something that is added that doesnt improve performance. the wing is for stability at high speeds and since our cars are RWD they are functional.

    Never thought of my Car as a Rooster. Anyway most people dont know this but the Formula has shared the same underpinnings and engines as the Trans Am since it's inception in 1970. So anything standard or available on a Trans Am was available on the Formula.
    Best description of a Formula, Everything a Trans Am is without all the fluff (no disrespect intended)

    And as for the wing being functional, Not at any speed the car is capable of doing. Although it does add weight behind the rear wheels to aid in traction.

    To the OP
    Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one buy the car that best suits your needs and desires. All LS1's are the same WS6's and Hawks are no faster then a regular V8 Car. So remember the extra money spent on a WS6 vs a regular Bird could be used on performance mods.

    Dont take it the wrong way! IMO Roosters kick ass. when I go to visit my grandpa in mexico he has a mean rooster that picks fights with dogs. I and ditto about the same engines. the formula has the V8 but doesnt have power windows, leather seats, power seats. I dont know that else it doesnt have, but on the plus side its lighter.

    and yes the 3k for the WS6 Option could be wiser spent on parts.

    Actually all Formula's come standard with Power Windows Locks Mirrors and the Mosoon CD. Trans Am's only get Leather T-tops and keyless entry above a Formula. Also the only way to get a Stripper (No Power Options) Formula was to Order a 1LE.

    I dont think the wing weighs that much 40lbs tops. I do like the firebirds front fascia though. but I like my car the way it is.

    Weight difference is roughly 100 lbs depending on options
    Most of the weight difference is in the Spoiler and T-Tops although the ground effects and different front/rear fascias will add a few lbs all together.

    Well, we can remove the t-tops all together....

    I think the trans ams, ws6 model in particular, are the best looking models. The front fascia of the trans am is a lot better looking than the base 'birds

    Yeah but then you get lots of drag so it's like driving with a parachute open.

    I actually like T/A's also but when I ordered mine I didn't want T-tops or Leather which are both standard on the Trans Am.

    I love my t-tops, they're just downright sexy.

    I believe leather seats look better for style, but for practicality they really suck. Hard to maintain, hot in summer, cold in winter, etc... but they just look sweet.

    I also prefer the spoiler of the trans ams, it just compliments the length and width of the fbods in my opinion.
