Usually you'd just buy a catback. I don't think any makes an axle back. So you're looking at buying a muffler and tips and having someone weld up some pipes to connect everything.
IMHO stay away from the flowmaster junk

Find someone who has a flowmaster, magnaflow or other sideways mount muffler and have them measure it for you the just go to summit, jegs, or even ebay and buy a magnaflow in the size needed. I have a SLP Powerflo catcack so my mufflers our mounted front to rear. Then got to afterthoughtsauto and get some corsa clones or check any local muffler shop and they usually have some decent tips. I had some chrome ovals before I did the catback.

And why exactly is it that he should definitely go magnaflow?

If he is comparing it to the flowmaster 80 series catback for our cars, just about any aftermarket muffler outflows that one.
For any other reason there are plenty of other options then just the two.

He has not mentioned anything about 80 series. I also quoted Justin, cuz I really want to hear Justin's logic

i think it has been stated, if OP is choosing between only magnaflow and flowmaster then the choice is obvious, magnaflow is arguably the most popular/best performing/best sounding muffler here(refer to http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134810) while flowmaster the least, evenbelow SLP LM's, yeah, flowmaster is worse than an SLP exhaust product. i think that alone says enough. (edit: p.s. i have SLP LM1, so, no need to 'educate' me)

not meaning to start a debate thread go there ^ if you want to argue

Best sounding/best performing are really opinions. Most popular is debatable as well. When it comes to a muffler, the owner should go with which sound they like best. That's the main purpose of a muffler, sound/tone. Between mufflers, you really aren't going to see that much difference in performance, just like with a lid. Now I will say the 80 series Flowmaster has shown to hinder flow/performance, but other than that, you are maybe talking a few HP difference between all the others, and that could just be the difference in dynos or the difference between each dyno run. But again, the OP did not specify an 80 series or whether he was thinking of another Flowmaster.

I have a question with the SLP Poewr Flo problem. Sonds deep only loud at WOT and looks great withg corsa clone tips. Everytone cries about how graeat Magnaflow is but the if you want the best get the GMMG or stailess works chambered setup.

We were talking about the best and a few hundred over a Magnaflow kit. The powerflon kit soi=unds grsaet but if younwanta acheap weld in flowmaster 80's sound good as long as you have cats or there raspy, magnoflow is a deeper mellow tone, or you could try to get a dynomax haven't heard an LS! but sound awsome on 5.0's. The hooker muffler is ok but most people I know who have them liked them till the cats came off. Slp powerfo and magnaflow are the same idea just different wats to get the sound. As far as flow rate unless your building an all aout track car find one with a sound you like, try you tube and other members for sound clips.
