Hello everyone...Spark question for you
I have a 99WS6 and I am curious if anyone has the Granatelli Spark plug wires installed on their LS1. I already have the Granatelli Air box, K&N air filter, Hypertech Stage III chip, and Borla exhaust. I heard that the new plug wires would make a difference in fuel economy and horsepower and was wondering if the gains would justify the cost.

Gains do not justify cost.
The design of the coil on plug means there is such a small distance for the spark to travel, it doesn't matter on most cars.
Now, they would be worth it if you had a shitton of power.
How did you 'chip' the car?

Hypertech Stage III tuner......really not a chip but a reprogrammer.

Lots of places have claims that don't exist on a regular car.
The ONLY way they add 15RWHP is if the stockers aren't keeping up with a 750RWHP car.
On a near stock car, at most, 1-2 RWHP, if that.2008 Trailblazer SS

Well I know that everyone makes their claims to sell their product. I have over 80k miles on the car now and I am noticing a miss that is probably plug or plug wire related. Thought about upgrading to lower resistance wires to pick up the performance a little over stock wires. Haven't found anyone yet that has these wires on their car. Even a 5RWHP gain for $200 dollars is not too bad.

How much are those wires?
I have heard good things about them from people with high horsepower cars.
I personally would leave the stockers. They shouldn't be a problem.

Ouch.
The MSD ones are similiar in performance and should be around $75.
MSD are the ones I would get if I were going to upgrade.
