heads , cam ect suggestions
Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any suggestions I have a 2000 ws6-m6 with slp long tubes slp y-pipe high flow cats and magna flow cat back also slp lid and k and n filter nitto 555 nt all around and approx. 80,000 on the ticker. I have owned it since 02 with 12,500 miles so the history is they have not been the easiest miles maybe be a little hard here and there lol anyway noticeing smoke blue after idle and on start -up typical valve seal syndrome so the question is what would all of your experiences suggest for max power gains with head and cam swap? I was thinking truck 5.3 head and not sure what cam or any other combo on a relative budget any suggestions appreciated thanks again

You can pick up a nice head and cam package from Texas Speed. I am doing a torquer v.2 cam with ls6 stage 2 heads and a 3600 stall. Go check out there cams and most give you the power band and projected HP numbers. You cam choice depends on what kinda driving you do. Big cams are fun on a weekend racer and little cruising. Medium cams are usually less powerful but a lot easier on cruising cars.

I would check out some of the packages the sponsors offer like texas speed and decide from there. I believe their packages are sometimes less than 2g's. How much are you willing to spend. Do you still plan on driving the car daily? Your going to want to add an Ls6 intake or something along those lines to your parts list also or you wont see the max benefit of heads and a cam.

Get a rear end before going into the motor, is my advice.

Normally a rear end should be first but since the motor is on the way out and he is on a budget that new rear won't help him much.
