my driver side does it i think its a plastic gear that strips out in the headlight motor

OP has a '95 and I am not sure if the headlight motors are of a different design than the '98 up models. Ours are known for the plastic gears stripping out and although you can rotate it 180 degrees to get a little more life out of it, an upgrade to brass gears is highly recommended.
