Headlight Gremlins
Well I hope I'm not the only to have this issue.
Started last week. DS headlight won't go up at night. In the AM works fine, PM dead so Friday AM check, Dead. So thought good finnaly dead. Time for a motor. Fri. nite still dead, so I lock it open manually. Go out for the nite jump in at 1am, turn on lights.. motor start running for about 6 sec. gears grinding. Went out Sat. hit the alarm key fob from outside..Lights start opening Up..one sec..Down..motor runs six seconds. So I'm thinking control mod problems..Any help is greatly appreciated.Last edited by Rick in Yuma; 08-27-2006 at 05:03 PM. Reason: spelling

look for the brass replacement gear. The stock motors have a plastic gear that strips over time. Replace it with the brass one and you won't have a problem. The only place I know for sure sells it is classic industries

Follow up
Rembered I washed the engine the morning it started all this.
Today I disconnected the control mod. The lights still work. So I will have to drive around with them up until I receive the metal gears.
Note to all control mod only work the up an down. Everything else works ok.
