    headlight cover falling off

    hi everyone i had a ? if anyone has ever heard of a headlight cover coming off because i have a freind who was driving about 45 mph and his cover flew off and hit his windshield at first he didnt know what it was bcuz he just heard a loud thud so he pulled over and notesd his cover was gone. oh and about how much would it cost to buy a head light assymbly? thanx

    What year is the car? What kind of car?

    Usually a headlight cover is kept on by a couple of screws.

    You can search ebay or junkyard for the cover.

    its a 99 and it was ripped off so the wholes are really big where it screwd in and also he couldent find the cover any more so im thinking he needs the whole assembly. and thank i will try that

    there are 4 screws that hold the cover on... make sure they are tight!!!

    well the screws arnt there any more or the cover it got ripped off so the wholes where the screws went are even bigger and the cover got lost and i was just wondering if any one has heard of that happening and where to get another assymbly but 02mula showed me where to get one so thank 02mula and i will make shur to tell my freind to chech the other 4screws on the left so that one dousent fly off as well.

    Could of been the previous owner, that he put a too big of screw in the threaded area and screwed up the threads. You might have to use a small bolt and nut with a washer to keep the new one on.

    you could try putting a nut sert in thge hole.

    it's kinda like a nut that gets pop riveted into an oversized hole.

    they have different nut styles and you need a simple hand gun tool like a pop rivet tool to install. But they do work great on small things from my experience.

    hey thanks i will have to try that and if that does not work i will put gorilla glue or some kind of really strong glue

    You might want to think about something that can stand temp changes.
    I don't think glue will do that?

    I just don't want your freind to lose another headlight cover.
