head light going crazy

well my driver side head light got lazy and its not coming up all the time. i was trying to put some wd40 and turn the rotor. all the sudden rotor got crazy making sound and my head light coming up and down by itself.
also when ever i hit my alarm lights go up and down and making sound. what am i going to do ?

You're going to repair or replace the gear in the headlight motor.

You can take it apart & turn it 180 degrees, but you'll end up doing it again someday.
Or you can buy the brass gear & hopefully never get into it again.
Or replace the whole motor assembly with a new one.
No matter how ya do it, ..., your gears are stripped right now.

it's very simple and straight forward. i replaced the plastic gear over the weekend that i got from a friend and fellow Ls1.com member. took about 45min to do cause i had to wait long enough for the gasket sealant to seal and hold the cover back on.

the 180 fix mentioned above did not work for me. infact once i removed the plastic gear, there were 6-8 plastic teeth that were broken off inside the housing.

just make sure to grease the teeth when you put the new gear in.
