Have You Updated Your Brakes ?

I'm pretty much through with my suspension mods and the last item on my list is the brakes. I figure before I make my car faster, I better have the ability to stop it faster !
Please post any and all modifications you have already done, to your braking system.
So far I've gotten the best possible advice on the suspension mods and now you all have to educate me on brake upgrades.
Thanks a lot, your advice and experience is much appreciated.

I have the cts-v front brake upgrade. I haven't installed it yet as I just haven't gotten around to it but I have all the parts. It is very affordable for sure. They are gen 1 cts-v calipers matched with c6 z06 rotors and custom stainless steel brake lines from flynbye.

Upgrading mine now and have a thread with pics up on it somewhere. Going with R1 Concepts slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads and Russell braided lines.

    Yes.
    bunch of them

My stuff is bone stock other than Hawk Pads, Eradispeeds, and braided lines. It's hauled this pig down from a 129 MPH 1/8 pass with a rather limited shutdown area more than a few times before the 'chute.

    Hey Jeff, great picture there.
Did you refinish the calipers yourself ? If it's not a secret I'd love to know how you went about it.
    Beautiful job !

I originally did them back in 2009 -- removed the caliper and then the caliper mount, washed everything down with brake cleaner and hit it all with a wire brush. I left the caliper hose on and simply masked everything off real well. A cap off a can of spray paint fits the pistons about perfectly and trimming the cap with a pair of scissors to match the contour was very easy. Newspaper was taped into the wheel well and also used to cover the suspension components. The calipers were then shot with two coats of Eastwood's Spray Gray. Nothing special and took only about a half hour in prep and spraying per caliper.

Lol, funny Jeff! I am liking how the 14" rotors and brembos look.
