Gutting my cats

Im having problems with my car and I have all 4 oxygen sensor codes coming up so I was feeling the exhaust while it was running and it would go from real hot exhaust coming out to a change of tone in the exhaust to a cold exhaust coming out and not much so Im pretty sure the cats are junk. What do you guys think will happen if I gut the cats out and clear the codes? Should the codes be gone or would the oxygen sensors have been damaged and be replaced also?

youll have to tune the rear o2 sensors out as they read what the cats are doing unless you want an ses light. if your state is strict on emmissions then you wont pass inspection with the cats gutted. someone else im sure will post more info if you might have a different problem but it sounds like the cats to me

I have an OTC genisys scanner I wonder if that will delete the codes but Im not sure how to I dont know the scanner to well yet.

itll delete the codes but if your cats are gone the rear sensors will set it off again shortly after clearing them
