    Got a Ram Air hood

I just bought a 98 Trans Am that was originally not a WS6 but was turned into a clone. A ram air hood was put on it but shouldn't I do something with the air intake to make it functional. The ram air hood is fully functional but there is still a stock lid on the air filter, and i'm wondering if I should do anything to get a performance boost.

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

get the WS6 airbox deck. It's about an inch taller than the stock one and will help you out. The best-fit after market air lid is the SLP one.

Congrats! I love those purple ones!

The Hood really don't show any performance boost unless your doing 100+mph and even then the gain is marginal.

I'd at least get the WS6 lower intake and a performance air filter like a K&N, blackwing, etc. You should get an aftermarket lid of some sort since it's a easy and fairly inexpensive upgrade. Anything else you do beyond that just search the forums and you'll find whatever you're looking for.

it can aslo work as a stabilazer or might create some down force. some people say tht the car gets held back.

I for one bought a WS9 Hood, and its fully functunal, havent instaled it yet but the way the heat extractors are set, is that the air that somes from the bottom of the car leaves through the pores.

I say go with the Volant intake. I love the looks and it lines up great with a ram air hood and can be sealed.

+1 I really love my Volant intake too. I'd take it over a lid any day.

Hood by itself will actually slow the car down. It's heavier than the regular hood and the unbaffled ducts just add drag. But, they look better to most people. I'm not a fan. I like the Firehawk hoods though and they are more functional set up properly.
