Good deal? - high-mileage 1999 T/A for $6000
Hey guys:
I'm looking at a 1999 T/A (6-speed) (NOT WS6) with 150,000 miles on it.
Is it a good deal at $6,000?
How many miles have you seen 1998-2002 T/A go on for?

depends. was it taken care of? if it was beat the hell out of and wasnt taken car of, you'll probably need a rebuild soon. i'd talk him down some, that is kinda high on the price. but if these engines are taken care of, you can get lotssa miles outta them.

I would talk him down on the $6k. You know he/she didn't baby the car 100% of the time. Do you plan on rebuilding the engine? If so...hell it wouldn't matter what mileage is on it.
We took a 2000 WS6 that over 165k miles on it for $5000 with the sole intention of rebuilding. We turned it around with an 800hp beast with all trick hardware.
I would make sure there are no accidents (obviously) and expect your typical wear and tear. If the car was well taken care of I say go for it (however try and get a lower price).
Good luck!Eric @ WAR (Formerly Eric @ DMS)

Navy Blue Metallic- '00 Formy A4
I just saw one with 195k advertised on CL for 8,500, so 6k doesn't sound too bad for one with 45k less miles.

Black- 1999 Trans am
I bought my 99 T/A for $ 5,500 with 112k on it. Well taken care of and I now have 150k on it with only suspension ( shocks/springs ), tires and brakes. Still runs like a bat out of hell. If it's in good shape and has a good history and it's what you want, go for it. For a couple of thousand more it could be like new.
Enjoy!

I bought my 99 T/A with 95,000 miles for $7,000. It is a really nice and all stock car that had very few little things that it needed.
