I got Motive with redline fluid and the gm additive and there is very little noise back there now. I killed the original 3.32's then replaced them with 3.23's but note sure what brand they were but they hummed a little. The new set up is pretty quiet , at least as much as expected in a beaten car. It's about 2400 to 2500rpm or so at 65 to 70. Whick is exceptable for me, Doing a 6spd swap in Oct or Nov anyway so not like it matters.

I have a Yank 3600 Stall with 373's and a Cam. I get 20 MPG on the highway and 14 around town. The stall/gears was the best mod I ever did for my car. Pacesetters work fine as long as they are wrapped. If you dont get them wrapped or coated they get Very hot. I had Pacesetters on my 2000 T/A and they worked fine. I have SLP L/Ts on this car though and couldn't be happier. I never had an issue with Pacesetters. They are absolutely awesome if you are on a budget. Just make sure you get em wrapped. Just FYI at 80 MPH with my gears I am at 3000 RPMS which I find pretty manageable since I dont drive the TA a lot on the highway. IMHO 373s are the best gear for the A4 cars. I can still do 150 MPH with them.

BTW Fellow USN here. I work with NCIS in Jacksonville.

My friend ran a 12.4 in the 1/4. We have basically the same mods, but he has a 12-bolt and 3.73s...i have 2.73s. I won a race between the two of us twice, although he had a passenger.

So lets do some bench racing. He runs a 12.4...lets just say on a perfect night I can match a 12.4 as well. Would 3.73s help me anymore. I mean a 12.4 is a decent time already with the mods I have.

Stall (SS3600), QTP 1 3/4" long tubes, ypipe, magnaflow, 315 nittos...

I suppose I should take it to a track to see what I can run first...

3.73s will help..but there is fine line between acceleration and grip..the 12 bolt loses a little more due to great drivetrain lose..but the 3.73 make up for it.

That's what I was thinking as well, yet we put down the same amount hp on the dyno. We both dynoed at the same place, but then i hear people gaining, .4-.5 tenths by swapping from 2.73s to 3.73s and i just don't see that being feasible.

I mean these are almost identical setups, stock suspension, running nittos, stalls, headers, and exhaust cars....that's why i don't think gears help as much as people think when it comes to a stalled a4.

I got him by a a foot or two off the line and pulled a fender or so by the time we hit 100. He said he hooked, and i know I did..
