No pics of anything installed yet. What were trying to do is to make it functional and cool!

Here's some highlights from that thread on our forum:

"Yup. True shaker. We have our pipe bent up, just need to finish the box that sits on the engine..."

"The opening would face the cowl. The guy making it thought it would face the other way for "ram-air".

We tried repeatedly to explain to him that there is a low pressure zone at the cowl so air is sucked in and that the other way around, ram air, DOES NOT WORK unless your car hits 300mph (literally) due to aerodynamics, lol."

it depends on what you classify as ramair. It's been shown that bottom feeding does work, and as well as our nostrils serve a real purpose in air flow. But that gets into the whole squabbling debate of ramair.

Yeah, I'm with you, bottom feeding might/does work, and on T/a's your nostrils go right into your airbox....on my SS, the air goes around the hood and THEN into the airbox.

Then like you said, it goes into the debate about airspeed this and scoop that, blah, blah, blah...

i think I'm gonna just try taping off my lid where the hood meets it and see if just my CAI does that trick to pressurize the lid better/faster....the debate is that the scoop on an SS doesn't really work until about 100mph.

Lets not get into that here... as for the shaker, as soon as the targa top is finished, we're getting on it next!

I dont think it'll work with a WS6 hood.... we're thinking the stock flat hood so it can be cut up....and no one would care.

i think people normally dont like the idea cuz no one's seen it. I think that design on a ws6 hood would look good imo

But WS6's already have great working, flowing and looking hoods. Why make them inoperable for a shaker scoop?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

Plus, we think the WS6/firehawk hoods are perfect as they are..... But you're more than welcome to try it.

Not mine, but her is a shaker on the WS6.

    and this one was mine:

and this is the Heritage TA:

And this shot answers the questions of is it functional! Yes, see the wiring to the flap, and the plenum connection to the stock baffles. The Heritage scoop is actually 30% larger than the 70-76 scoop so it doesn't have to be pushed up against the underside of the hood.

    And together:

I am in the process of designing my own air box and mounting system for my next shaker set-up.

The biggest problem with the 4th gen shakers is that if you want the scoop to be high enough to have a nice profile above the hood, you have to press it's rubber gasket to the underside of the hood, and when you do that, you severely limit the ability to shake. Getting it to function as the actual air cleaner seems relatively easy.

im tryin to see how the heritage scoop got air to the intake...it looks like there's a small tube that goes down to the factory baffeling...but imo that doesnt look very good for air flow.

it's too bad we dont have any more pics of it on a ws6. I know alot of people are against it, but i think if done right, and perhaps with a diff color, it could look good

I think late spring. We really, really want to get the targa top done first. There's tons of cash and time already wrapped up in it.
