a question like this makes me think your gas gauge or sending unit is bad? i'm not sure if mine is the same as yours but i have a 98 T/A and i believe it is a 15 gallon tank. i drive about 300 miles before i fill up again cause my sending unit is bad, so i go by milage. i plan to fix it soon

300 MILES!!!!!!!!!! Why do I get only about 180 per fill up? I got '02 WS6, no mods, dont drive hard, and do about 80% highway. Was wonering why my mpg was so horrible.

yeah its about 15 gallons and you should get 250-300 or so per tank with a stock engine and gears make sure to use the correct octane gas

ever since i did my LTs my gas mileage has been decreasing each fill up, im still running rich, still need a tune.....i used to get 300+ on each tank, but now i get 250-265, alot of it comes from driving hard too.....but to answer your question i believe they come with a 14.5 gallon tank....

yea, chevy sucks at making there gauges work right for gas. It always drops realy quick when at 1/4 haha. Even my s-10 did that. Tonight it said i was on bone empty but when i went to fill it i still had 4 gallons left. Stupid GM

My S-10 did the same thing I always just went off of milage, but I have a 98 TA and have ran it bone dry and filled it up to about 14.6 so im pretty sure its either a 14.5 or 15 and I usually get 320 miles out of a tank when it was my DD, now I have a 4cyl eclips with a 12 gallon tank and I can go 400 miles on a tank of gas haha...

on the 99's and up they have a 16.8 gallon fuel tank!! and my gas gauge drops incredibly fast as well. it always reads about an 1/8 to a 1/4 left at about 200 miles. and i fill up and still have about 5 gallons left in it. and yes they take premium gas.

They do that so you don't run it to low or run it out of gas. Almost all cars are designed to do that.
I read an article in Motor Trend awhile back about this. Alot of people bitched about how accurate the gas guages were. So all companys adjusted the guages to show less fuel than they actually have. Also, it is bad to run an electric fuel pump bone dry or low.

No low fuel light, but the "check gauges" light will come on. Be nice to your fuel pump and don't let it fall much below 1/4.

Yes, eventually, the fuel pump is cooled by gasoline the pump will not last as long if you run your tank to near empty each time.

I get 230 miles per tank no matter how I drive. But its all city driving. I haven't tried it out much on the highway but when I do, I'm always on it!

YES. It gets too hot and decreases its lifespan as was previously stated.
